Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar, who tied the knot in February 2022, recently became the focus of widespread speculation about expecting their first child.

Media reports suggested that the couple was preparing to embrace parenthood three years into their marriage, sparking excitement among fans. However, Farhan’s stepmother, veteran actress Shabana Azmi, dismissed these rumors.

In an interview with ETimes, Shabana stated, “There’s no truth to it,” firmly denying the reports. Her response has put an end to the speculation, clarifying that Farhan and Shibani are not expecting a child at this time.

A Wedding to Remember

The couple’s private wedding in February 2022 was nothing short of magical. Farhan and Shibani celebrated their union in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and family.

Since then, they have been vocal about their love and often share glimpses of their personal life on social media, leaving fans in awe of their chemistry.

Farhan’s Birthday Bash with Family

Farhan Akhtar celebrated his 51st birthday in style, surrounded by family and friends at a special gathering in Mumbai. Sharing his birthday with his cousin, filmmaker Farah Khan, and his sister-in-law, Anusha Dandekar, the trio marked the occasion together.

Farah Khan shared a humorous Instagram reel showcasing her unique gift to Farhan—a DVD of the 1981 historical drama Kranti.

The video captured Farhan’s delighted reaction as he sang the movie’s title track, with Farah captioning the post, “What do you gift your little brother who has everything? A piece of our childhood, of course!”

Zoya Akhtar, Farhan’s sister, hosted a birthday bash for the trio, sharing pictures from the celebration on social media. She captioned her post, “Bring it in,” showcasing the joyous atmosphere of the event.

Ringing in 2025 with Love

As the New Year began, Farhan and Shibani welcomed 2025 with a romantic celebration. The couple shared a series of photos on Instagram, with one capturing a passionate kiss as they rang in the New Year.

Other pictures featured the duo enjoying the night with close friends, dancing, and creating cherished memories.

Shibani Addresses Hurtful Comments

In a candid conversation on a podcast hosted by Rhea Chakraborty, Shibani Dandekar opened up about the challenges she faced when her relationship with Farhan became public.

She revealed that she was subjected to hurtful comments, including being labeled as part of “love jihad” and called a “gold digger.”

“On a daily basis, when I started my relationship with Farhan, people used to say these things to me. What am I supposed to do with that? I am not going to cry myself to bed because people are saying these things,” Shibani stated, emphasizing her resilience in the face of negativity.

Exciting Projects on the Horizon

Farhan Akhtar’s professional schedule is packed with major projects in 2025. He will star in the highly anticipated military action drama 120 Bahadur, portraying Major Shaitan Singh, PVC.

The film, which pays tribute to the 120 soldiers who lost their lives in the 1962 Battle of Rezang La, is set to release on November 21, 2025.

Farhan is also gearing up to direct Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani. Fans have speculated that Priyanka Chopra might make her Bollywood comeback with the film.

However, Farhan has chosen to remain behind the camera for this project. Addressing why he didn’t cast himself as the iconic Don, he humorously remarked, “Are you crazy? I will be lynched by the Don fans. I am happy just being behind the camera.”

A Cherished Family Bond

Reflecting on his birthday celebrations, Farhan expressed his joy at spending time with family. The gathering included his parents, Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, and other close family members.

“This is the one occasion when all of us get together. Family time for me is the most precious time. That’s irreplaceable and non-negotiable for me,” he said.

The actor-producer-director values moments with loved ones, especially as coordinating schedules to bring everyone together is often challenging.
