PlayStation State of Play Recap: Biggest Reveals and Exciting New Games

A brand-new State of Play has arrived, providing an exciting glimpse into the future of PS5 with a host of new game reveals.
The showcase featured highly anticipated titles, including Housemarque’s next game, Saros, and new trailers for Borderlands 4, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and many more.
Major Reveals and Game Updates
Sony’s latest State of Play event included big announcements such as Days Gone Remastered, a fresh look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and a new Dynasty Warriors spin-off.
Additional highlights included details on WWE 2K25’s The Island, a new Shinobi game, and several other surprises.
Despite these exciting reveals, some highly anticipated updates were missing. Bloodborne fans continue to wait for a 60fps patch or a remaster, and there was no additional look at Marvel’s Wolverine.
Additionally, Santa Monica Studio, the developer behind God of War, did not have any presence at the showcase.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Confirmed
As previously leaked, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater received a new trailer confirming its release date of August 28, 2025.
The trailer showcased new story elements and gameplay, as well as the return of the classic Snake vs. Monkey minigame mode. The game is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
Saros: Housemarque’s Next Big Project
Housemarque, the developer behind Returnal, officially announced their next game, Saros.
This new roguelike bullet-hell shooter features British actor Rahul Kohli as the protagonist, Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer navigating a dangerous off-world colony called Carcosa. Saros is set to release exclusively for PS5 in 2026.
The cinematic trailer introduces Carcosa, a planet trapped in a time loop under the shadow of a solar eclipse.
The game will incorporate bullet-hell boss fights similar to Returnal, promising an intense, fast-paced experience.
Tides of Annihilation: A New Action-Adventure
Eclipse Glow Studio unveiled their new action-adventure title, Tides of Annihilation. Set in a ruined version of London, the game blends platforming elements with action combat.
Players control Gwendolyn, a character who can summon spectral knights to fight alongside her. The gameplay trailer showcased epic boss battles and Soulslike combat mechanics.
While no release date has been announced, Tides of Annihilation is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
Days Gone Remastered Announced
Sony confirmed the release of Days Gone Remastered, arriving on PS5 and PC on April 25, 2025.
This remastered version includes graphical upgrades, DualSense features, and new gameplay modes such as Horde Assault and a Permadeath mode. Players who own the original game on PS4 or PC can upgrade to the remastered version for $10.
MindsEye Release Window Announced
MindsEye, developed by Build a Rocket Boy, received a gameplay and cinematic trailer at State of Play.
This single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure is set in Redrock, a fictional desert city in the near future.
The protagonist, Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by a failed operation, must navigate a world filled with intrigue and conflict. MindsEye will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X this summer.
Lost Soul Aside Gets a Release Date
Ultizero Games’ long-awaited action RPG, Lost Soul Aside, finally received a release date at State of Play.
Inspired by Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry, the game features action-packed combat, stunning visuals, and expansive environments. Lost Soul Aside is set to launch on PC and PS5 on May 30, 2025.
Sony’s State of Play Event Details
Sony also announced details of its upcoming “State of Play” online presentation on February 12. The event will be live-streamed on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels and will last for over 40 minutes.

What to Expect from the Next Showcase
Sony’s upcoming event is expected to provide updates on several major video game titles. These include Ghosts of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, now set for a March 20 release.
Fans are also hoping for a gameplay reveal of Marvel’s Wolverine, which was announced in 2021 and is being developed by Insomniac.
Other potential announcements include updates on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Phantom Blade Zero.
Additionally, Sony may announce a partnership with Apple, expanding PlayStation VR2 controller support and bringing an enhanced gaming experience to Apple’s Vision Pro headset.
