Aamir Khan Confirms Relationship with Gauri Spratt on His 60th Birthday

Aamir Khan turned 60 on March 14, but his birthday wasn’t the only thing making headlines. The actor recently confirmed his relationship with Gauri Spratt, introducing her to the media at a pre-birthday celebration in Mumbai.

During the interaction, Aamir shared details about their bond, how they reconnected, and their future plans.

The press meet took place at a Mumbai hotel, where Aamir candidly spoke about why he decided to make their relationship public.

“We are committed now, and we felt we were secure enough in each other to tell you guys. And this is better — I won’t have to hide things now. Tomorrow, if I go for a coffee with her, you guys can join us too,” he said with a smile.

Aamir revealed that he and Gauri had first met 25 years ago but lost touch before reconnecting two years ago. “I was looking for someone who I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was,” he shared.

Aamir’s Past Marriages and Family’s Acceptance

Aamir has been married twice before — first to Reena Dutta and later to Kiran Rao. He shares three children from his previous marriages — Ira and Junaid with Reena, and Azad with Kiran. Aamir disclosed that Gauri has met his children and that they like her.

When asked about his marriage plans with Gauri, Aamir laughed and said, “See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Marriage at the age of 60 would not suit me). But let’s see.”

Who is Gauri Spratt?

Gauri Spratt is originally from Bangalore. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who ran a salon in Bangalore.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Gauri currently manages a BBlunt salon in Mumbai. She has a six-year-old child from a previous relationship and has known Aamir for 25 years.

The couple started dating 18 months ago after reconnecting through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan.

Gauri shared that it was Aamir’s kindness that won her over. “I wanted someone who was kind, a gentleman, and just caring,” she said. Aamir responded with a playful comment, “And after all that, you found me?”

Aamir also noted that Gauri isn’t a big fan of Hindi films. “She grew up in Bangalore, and her exposure was to different kinds of films and arts. So she doesn’t watch Hindi films. She has probably not seen much of my work, too,” he said.

Aamir and Gauri’s Relationship Journey

Aamir joked about keeping their relationship a secret for so long. “Dekha kuch bhi pata nahi chalne diya maine tum logo ko (See, I didn’t let you guys get a wind of this),” he said.

He added that his friends, including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, have already met Gauri. “She met Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan last night,” he shared.

Aamir also opened up about how his family has welcomed Gauri. He mentioned that his children are fond of her, and his close friends have also accepted her warmly.

The actor revealed that he has already taken steps to protect Gauri from the increased media attention. “She’s being trained to handle the media madness, and I’ve also hired security for her,” Aamir said.

Marriage Not a Priority for Now

While Aamir and Gauri are in a committed relationship, marriage isn’t on the cards at the moment. Aamir explained that getting married at 60 might not be suitable.

“See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Now getting married at 60 wouldn’t suit me). But let’s see,” he said with a laugh.

Reflecting on Past Relationships

Aamir expressed gratitude for the relationships he shared with Reena and Kiran. “I’ve been fortunate to be in a strong relationship. Like, Reena and I spent 16 years together, and then Kiran and I spent 16 years together, and in many ways we are still together. I’ve learnt so much, and it’s been very enriching. With Gauri, I feel settled,” he said.

Future Plans and Upcoming Project

Aamir is currently working on his next film, Sitaare Zameen Par, set for release on December 25 as a big Christmas release. He is also focused on ensuring that Gauri adjusts well to the public attention.

During the press meet, Aamir referenced his film Lagaan while joking about his relationship. “Bhuvan ko uski Gauri mil hi gayi (Bhuvan finally met his Gauri),” he said, drawing laughter from the media.
