Sanjay Dutt Confirms Fan Left Him Rs 72 Crore Property — And His Response Wins Hearts

Sanjay Dutt has recently confirmed a heart-touching incident that took place in 2018, when he was left a property worth ₹72 crore by a devoted fan. The twist? He chose to return the entire inheritance to her family.

The Unbelievable Incident

During an interview with Curly Tales, Sanjay Dutt addressed the widely reported 2018 episode involving Nisha Patil, a terminally ill fan.

The actor revealed, “It is true,” confirming that he was indeed the recipient of her estate. When asked about what he did with the wealth, he calmly responded, “I gave it back to the family.”

Nisha Patil, a 62-year-old homemaker from Mumbai, had reportedly informed her bank that after her death, her entire property, estimated at ₹72 crore, should be handed over to Sanjay Dutt.

The gesture drew immense attention at the time due to its emotional and financial magnitude. Dutt’s decision to return the inheritance reflects a deeply humane side to the actor, which fans found admirable.

When Fans Go to Great Lengths

This incident sheds light on the intense admiration fans have for their favorite stars. In a separate episode, Shah Rukh Khan once spoke about a fan who managed to breach the security of his residence, Mannat, just to swim in his pool.

Recalling the event, he said, “One night, a person entered the house, he took off his clothes, jumped into my swimming pool and swam. When the security guard caught him asking who he was, he said, ‘I don’t want anything. I just wanted to bath in Shah Rukh Khan’s swimming pool.’ I found that very endearing and amusing. When I was called down, I met and hugged him. He did not want any photo or autograph.”

Sanjay Dutt’s story, however, stands apart for its gravity and grace. Being left with such a massive inheritance is rare, but giving it back shows a different kind of generosity.

A Career with Highs and Lows

Sanjay Dutt began his film career in 1981 with Rocky. He rose to stardom with memorable performances in films like Vidhaata, Naam, Saajan, Khal Nayak, Vaastav, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.

His on-screen charisma and intensity earned him a strong fan base across generations.

However, his career was not without turbulence. In connection with the 1993 Bombay blasts case, Sanjay Dutt was charged under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) for possessing illegal arms.

He was convicted under the Arms Act and sentenced to five years in prison, a sentence he completed in 2016.

Despite these challenges, Sanjay has made several comebacks in the film industry, continuing to remain relevant and admired.

Recent and Upcoming Projects

The actor was last seen in Bhootnii and Housefull 5, both of which released earlier this year. Looking ahead, Sanjay is set to appear in the Telugu film Akhanda 2, which stars Balakrishna and is slated to release on 25 September.

One of his most anticipated upcoming projects is Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar.

This espionage-action thriller boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun.

The film is scheduled for release on 5 December. Interestingly, Dhurandhar will clash at the box office with another highly awaited film, The RajaSaab, starring Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt.

Additionally, Sanjay Dutt is also part of the Kannada film KD – The Devil, which is expected to release in 2026.

A Rare Real-Life Drama

It’s not every day that a Bollywood actor becomes the unexpected heir to a fortune, and even more rare is someone who chooses to give it all away.

Sanjay Dutt’s decision to return the ₹72 crore property left to him by a fan shows a compassionate side of the star that many find inspiring.

While his life has been filled with dramatic turns both on and off screen, this episode has earned him quiet praise and reminds fans why they continue to admire him—not just as an actor, but as a person.
