Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Ravikumar was the son of actor Bharathi and film producer K.M.K. Menon, who established Sreekrishna Studio—one of Malayalam cinema’s earliest production houses.

Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the film industry, Ravikumar naturally gravitated towards a career in cinema.

Early Film Journey in Malayalam and Tamil

Ravikumar began his acting career with smaller roles before gaining prominence with A.B. Raj’s Ullasa Yaathra (1975), marking his Malayalam debut in a significant role.

Ravikumar left an impression as a romantic hero during a time when the industry was dominated by stalwarts like Prem Nazir, Madhu, and later, Jayan.
