Family Man 3 Actor Rohit Basfore Found Dead Near Assam Waterfall

In a deeply shocking incident, actor Rohit Basfore, known for his role in the upcoming season of Family Man 3, was found dead near the Garbhanga Waterfalls in Guwahati, Assam, on Sunday, April 27. He was 25.

Police confirmed that his body was recovered around 6:30 PM after a search operation was launched following reports of his disappearance.

Sudden Disappearance and Body Recovery

Basfore, who had recently returned to Guwahati from Mumbai, left his home around 12:30 PM on Sunday to spend time with friends. When he did not respond to calls for hours, concern grew among his circle.

It was later in the day that one of his friends informed others about the discovery of his body near the Jalukpham waterfall, located in the Rani area of the city.

Authorities from the Rani Police Outpost said that the incident reportedly occurred around 2 PM. “We received the report around 4 PM and reached the spot by 4:30 PM. The SDRF team later recovered the body around 6:30 PM,” the police said.

The body was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where Basfore was declared dead on arrival.

Drowning Suspected, But Family Alleges Murder

While the police initially believed it was an accidental drowning, the autopsy conducted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital revealed multiple injuries on Basfore’s body.

“An autopsy was performed at Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Monday. Multiple injuries were discovered on the body, including wounds on his head, face, and other parts. We are investigating the case, but the four accused are on the run,” an official said.

The actor’s family has alleged foul play and accused several individuals of involvement in his death.

They pointed to a recent parking dispute involving three men — Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore — who had allegedly threatened Rohit.

Another individual named Amardeep, a gym owner who had invited Rohit to the outing, is also under scrutiny.

Police Investigation Underway

Police officials are currently investigating the possibility of murder. Sources confirmed that the actor had gone for a picnic with nine colleagues and may have fallen into the waterfall.

However, with signs of physical injuries and accusations from the family, authorities are looking deeper into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The actor’s family claimed that his phone was switched off by noon, and they noted that he did not know how to swim. These details have added to the family’s suspicions.

A few weeks prior to the incident, Rohit had shared behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of Family Man 3.

In the images, he appeared alongside co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Dalip Tahil. He had written, “On the sets of Family Man 3. It was a great experience and I always loved to learn new things.”

Rising Star with a Passion for Acting

A native of Guwahati, Rohit Basfore was not only an actor but also a martial arts and gymnastics coach.

He had recently joined the cast of The Family Man Season 3, which is currently being filmed at various locations across the country.

Though his exact role in the Amazon Prime Video series is yet to be revealed, he was reportedly enthusiastic about working on more OTT projects, especially those being shot in Northeast India.

The hit show, created by Raj & DK, stars Manoj Bajpayee in the lead as intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari and is one of the most acclaimed Indian web series.
