Atul Kulkarni Visits Pahalgam After Terror Attack, Urges People Not to Fear Kashmir

Actor Atul Kulkarni recently travelled to Pahalgam, just days after a devastating terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir left 26 people dead.

By sharing photos and videos from his trip, he urged people not to fear Kashmir, asserting, “This is our Kashmir, this is our country, we will come.”

Sharing His Experience from Pahalgam

On April 27, Atul Kulkarni posted several pictures and a video from his visit to Pahalgam, showcasing local delicacies at a shop and posing at the “I love Pahalgam” photo booth.

In a Hindi caption, loosely translated, he wrote, “This is the property of India. Courage is heavier than fear. This is the property of India. The hate is lost to love. Let’s go to Kashmir. Let’s go to Sindh, Jhelum shore. I have come, you also come (sic).” He used hashtags like #Chalokashmir, #Feet_in_Kashmir, #Kashmiriyat, #love_compassion, and #DefeatTerror.

In another post, Kulkarni shared a photo buying a cricket bat from a local shop.

The shop owner thanked him for visiting during difficult times, captioning the post, “@atulkulkarni_official Sir It Was Lovely Hosting You , And Thanku So Much For Coming In These Difficult Times And Showing The Enemies We Aint Afraid, Together We Will Get Over This (sic).”

In a video, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ actor was seen enjoying local bun and chai.

Sending a Strong Message Against Fear

Speaking to ANI, Atul Kulkarni said he wanted to send a strong message to the world.

He stated, “The incident that took place on 22nd April has made the entire country sad. I read that 90 per cent of bookings have been cancelled here. The message that the terrorists are giving is not to come to Kashmir. This is not going to happen. This is our Kashmir, our country, and we will come here. This is the answer we should give to the ideology of terrorists. I could not give this message staying in Mumbai, so I came here. If I can come, then the rest of the country can also come here. We should come here and not get scared.”

Highlighting the Spirit of Kashmir

Through his Instagram Stories, Atul Kulkarni shared glimpses of his journey, including pictures of an almost empty flight and interactions with locals.

He encouraged his followers to travel to Kashmir, with locals seen condemning the attack. In videos he posted, tourists could be seen visiting Pahalgam and other parts of the region.

Atul Kulkarni’s visit to Pahalgam, known as “Mini Switzerland,” came after the deadly terror attack that claimed the lives of several tourists in Baisaran meadow.

By visiting the valley himself, Kulkarni intended to demonstrate that terrorism should not disrupt tourism or spread fear among the people.

Speaking Through Action, Not Words

While talking to ANI, Atul Kulkarni explained his decision: “What happened on the 22nd was a very tragic incident; this should not have happened. The entire country is deeply saddened.

When I read about it, I was thinking that every time something like this happens, what do we do? We post on social media, we talk to friends, we write something, but then I thought, what can I actually do in real action?”

Kulkarni continued, “That’s when I remembered reading that 90% of the bookings here had been cancelled. So I felt—what message are they trying to send by doing this? They’re basically saying, ‘Don’t come to Kashmir.’ And the response we should give is, ‘We will come. Kashmir is ours.’ But I couldn’t give that message while sitting in Mumbai. It was important that I come here myself.”

Capturing the Beauty of Kashmir

Atul Kulkarni continued to share beautiful pictures from his trip. He posted an image seated on a bench against the scenic backdrop of Pahalgam.

Another post showed him savouring local delicacies and receiving a hand-written note along with a gifted cricket bat.

He posted stories from his flight as well, showing mostly empty seats from Mumbai to Srinagar. In his post, he mentioned, “Mumbai to Srinagar. The crew says they were running full. We need to fill them up again. Chaliye ji Kashmir chalein.”

Atul Kulkarni’s Recent Work

On the professional front, Atul Kulkarni was last seen in the Netflix film Khufiya. He also appeared in the web series Happy Family: Conditions Apply.

Despite his busy schedule, he made time to visit Kashmir and set an example for others by standing firmly against fear and promoting unity.

Kulkarni’s heartfelt journey and actions serve as a reminder that terrorism must not dictate the spirit of travel, love, and unity across the country.
