Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Raghav Juyal Rally Behind Babil Khan Amid Viral Video Controversy

Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Raghav Juyal Rally Behind Babil Khan Amid Viral Video Controversy

A video of actor Babil Khan recently circulated online in which he was seen visibly emotional and in tears while commenting on the film industry.

In the clip, Babil referred to Bollywood as “fake” and “rude,” while naming celebrities like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, and Arijit Singh.

Many social media users quickly misinterpreted his statements, assuming he was criticizing those he mentioned.

Clarification Issued by Babil’s Team

Following the online backlash and confusion, Babil Khan’s team and family released an official statement explaining that the actor’s comments had been taken out of context.

The statement read, “A video of Babil has been widely misinterpreted and taken out of context. In the clip, Babil was sincerely acknowledging a few of his peers whom he believes are making meaningful contributions to the evolving landscape of Indian cinema.”

The clarification further stated that his mention of names came from a place of respect.

“His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh came from a place of genuine admiration — for their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry.”

Babil Temporarily Deactivates Instagram

Amid the rising attention on the video, Babil briefly deactivated his Instagram account. However, he restored it later the same day and expressed gratitude to his fellow actors for their public support during the controversy.

Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Raghav Juyal Speak Out

As the online debate continued, Ananya Panday publicly extended her support by resharing Babil’s Instagram story. She wrote, “Only love and good energy for you Babil, always in your corner.”

Siddhant Chaturvedi also showed his support by sharing a video of Babil writing on a piece of paper and saying, “Mujh itihaas likhna hai, kitaab nahi (I want to write history, not a book).” He also posted a clip of them singing “Wake Me Up” with friends at a gathering.

Siddhant condemned how trolls twisted Babil’s emotional moment into gossip.

He wrote, “I usually never engage in sh*t written about me and my colleagues, but this one’s personal. So to all the redditors, gossip columns and media portals of the internet. Stop. We love to hate and hate to love, is this what we’ve come to?”

He continued, “Shayad wahan thodi kami reh gai hogi ki aap hamari neeji zindagi mein wo dhoondhne lage ho? Koshish jaari hai hamari taraf se, aur aap bhi koshish karein ki koi bhi judgement dene se pehle ek baar soch lein. Peace out.”

Raghav Juyal also voiced his support for Babil by sharing the official statement. “BABİL is my family and I am always with him no matter what,” he wrote, standing by his friend during the misunderstanding.

Misunderstood Intent Behind Babil’s Words

The now-deleted video captured Babil during an emotionally vulnerable moment.

In it, he said, “What I mean to say is that, I just want you guys to know that there are people like Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Pandey and Arjun Kapoor and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Raghav Juyal and Adarsh Gourav and even… Arijit Singh? There are so, so many more names. Bollywood is so f****ed. Bollywood is so, so rude.”

The quote led to widespread speculation that he was labelling the named celebrities as rude. However, the statement from his team clarified that Babil was highlighting their sincere efforts to bring change within the film industry.

Family Reassures Fans

Babil Khan, son of late actor Irrfan Khan, has been known for his openness about mental health.

The statement acknowledged this and reassured his fans. “Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days – and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon.”

The message concluded with an appeal: “We respectfully urge media publications and the public to consider the full context of his words rather than drawing conclusions from fragmented video clips.”
