Jet-Powered Tribute to Jr NTR and War 2 Sparks Panic in Melbourne Amid Sky-High Fan Craze
War 2, the highly anticipated action spectacle from Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is garnering immense international attention.
With the trailer scheduled to release on July 25, excitement among fans has surged, especially following a viral fan stunt in Melbourne.
Melbourne Skywriting Stunt Creates a Stir
In an unusual fan gesture, Jr NTR’s supporters in Australia took to the skies to express their anticipation for the film. They arranged for jet planes to write “NTR” and “WAR 2” in the sky over Melbourne.
The act, though intended as a tribute, caused confusion among locals unfamiliar with the movie promotion.
A video of the event went viral after being posted by a Reddit user with the caption: “WAR2 jet promotion by NTR fans in Melbourne goes viral. Residents panic seeing WAR on sky.”
One user on X (formerly Twitter) shared, “Saw ‘WAR’ written in the sky today in Melbourne and panicked—then found out it’s for a Bollywood film!”
Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse Shared by Kiara Advani
Adding to the excitement, actress Kiara Advani, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram.
The image featured her alongside Hrithik Roshan and director Ayan Mukerji during an overseas shoot. Clad in a tank top and combat boots, Kiara captioned the post: “All set for tomorrow,” hinting at the trailer launch.
Trailer Launch and Release Details
The official trailer for War 2 is scheduled to release on July 25 at 10:08 AM, with special launches planned across cinemas in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The film will hit theatres on August 14, releasing in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 marks the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, following War (2019), Pathaan, and Tiger 3.
Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as elite spy Agent Kabir. Jr NTR enters the franchise as Agent Vikram, the film’s primary antagonist, marking his Bollywood debut. Kiara Advani also joins the cast in a major role.
Viral Tribute Becomes a Global Trend
The Melbourne skywriting tribute by Jr NTR fans was widely shared on social media. A fan page on X posted the video, showing “NTR War 2” being etched into the sky, drawing widespread attention. The unique gesture trended globally with hashtags like #NTRWar2 and #War2Trailer.
The fan action has been hailed as one of the most extraordinary tributes for an Indian actor on a public platform outside India. It reflects the global anticipation surrounding Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut.
War 2 Sets the Stage for Future Spy Universe Films
War 2 not only continues the storyline from the original War film but also paves the way for Alpha, an upcoming addition to the YRF Spy Universe starring Alia Bhatt.
While unconfirmed, speculation is rife that Alia may appear in a cameo role in War 2.
Additionally, War 2 will be the first Indian film released globally in Dolby Cinema. Featuring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the film promises an immersive cinematic experience.
In India, the first Dolby Cinema screen recently opened in Pune, with plans to expand to other cities.
Cast Promotions and Recent Developments
Interestingly, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR are expected to promote War 2 separately and not appear together for the promotional activities.
A poster shared by director Ayan Mukerji featured all three leads — Hrithik, Jr NTR, and Kiara — with the caption: “The biggest showdown of the year loading… #30DaysToWar2 #War2 only in theatres from 14th August. Releasing in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.”
The film also marks Kiara Advani’s return to the screen following the birth of her daughter with actor Sidharth Malhotra on July 15.
Countdown Begins
With its trailer launch imminent and fan frenzy already in full swing, War 2 is poised to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025. From sky-high tributes to Dolby-firsts, the film is not only capturing the attention of Indian audiences but is also making waves globally.
Backed by Aditya Chopra and helmed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is all set to redefine the scale of action cinema in Indian film history.
