Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was the victim of a knife attack during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence on January 16. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children were unharmed.

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team released a statement addressing the incident. It said, “There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern.”

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times while protecting his family. He sustained six injuries, including deep wounds near his spine and neck. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery.

The Attack in Detail

The burglary attempt occurred around 2:30 am. Saif’s nanny, Aliyama Philip, first noticed strange noises and discovered an intruder in the children’s room.

The assailant threatened her with a blade and demanded ₹1 crore. When Kareena Kapoor and Saif entered the room, a confrontation ensued, during which Saif was stabbed. Despite his injuries, Saif managed to protect his family until the attacker fled.

The suspect escaped via the building’s fire escape stairs. CCTV footage captured the intruder, described as a man in his mid-30s to early 40s wearing a brown collared t-shirt and a red scarf. His face was visible in the footage, providing police with a crucial lead.

Police Investigation

The Bandra police have registered an FIR under charges including robbery with intent to cause death or grievous harm and nighttime housebreaking.

Preliminary investigations suggest the intruder may have entered the apartment earlier without raising suspicion. Multiple police teams are working to track down the suspect.

Hospital Update on Saif Ali Khan’s Condition

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital provided an update on Saif’s condition following his surgery.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange explained, “Saif sustained a major injury to his thoracic spine due to a knife. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. He also had deep wounds on his left hand and neck, which were repaired by the plastic surgery team.”

The actor is now stable and recovering in the ICU. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s chief operating officer, said, “He is on the recovery path and may be shifted to a regular ward in a day or two.”
