Kuldeep Yadav Gets Engaged to Childhood Friend Vanshika in Intimate Lucknow Ceremony

Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav got engaged to his childhood friend Vanshika in a private ceremony held in Lucknow on Wednesday.

The intimate engagement event was attended by close family members and friends, including several Uttar Pradesh-based cricketers such as India and Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh.

The ceremony, held at a venue in Lucknow, saw Kuldeep and Vanshika exchange rings, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their long-standing bond.

The event remained traditional and low-key, staying true to the couple’s preference for privacy.

A Longtime Bond Blossoms into Love

Vanshika, a resident of Shyam Nagar in Lucknow, is employed with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Her friendship with Kuldeep dates back to their early childhood.

The duo has shared a close bond over the years, which eventually transformed into love. Their heartwarming engagement brought together their families and close friends, celebrating their journey from friendship to lifelong commitment.

Although the couple has not yet made an official announcement on social media, photos from the ceremony surfaced online, leading to an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow cricketers.

Known for maintaining a low profile about his personal life, Kuldeep is said to have a strong connection with Vanshika. According to those close to the couple, a wedding reception is being planned following India’s upcoming Test tour of England.

A Steady Presence in IPL 2025

On the cricketing front, Kuldeep represented Delhi Capitals in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. The 30-year-old left-arm wrist-spinner had a steady season, picking up 15 wickets in 14 matches.

He maintained an economy rate of 7.08 and a bowling average of 24.07, with his best figures being 3/22. His performance played a key role in helping Delhi Capitals finish fifth on the points table, securing seven wins in the tournament.

A Crucial Contributor to India’s Recent Success

Since making his debut for India in 2017, Kuldeep has been a reliable performer across all three formats. In ODIs, he has taken 181 wickets in 113 matches.

In the T20I format, he has picked up 69 wickets in 40 games. Additionally, he has claimed 56 wickets from 13 Test matches.

Kuldeep was a vital part of India’s recent successful campaigns in international cricket. He contributed significantly to India’s triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.

His ability to turn matches with his variations, especially the rare ‘chinaman’ delivery, has consistently made him a valuable asset for the team.

Focus Shifts to England Tour

Looking ahead, Kuldeep will now be a part of India’s squad for the upcoming five-match Test series in England. The series is scheduled to begin on June 20 and will run until August 4.

Team India is expected to depart for the UK in the coming days, and Kuldeep’s experience in red-ball cricket will be vital during the tour.

The left-arm spinner’s skill set is expected to be especially useful in English conditions, where Team India hopes to rely on his guile and control.

As he begins a new chapter in his personal life, Kuldeep’s focus remains firm on delivering strong performances on the international stage.

India’s Squad for the England Test Series

The Indian team for the five-match Test series against England includes:
Shubman Gill (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice-Captain and Wicketkeeper), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav.

With both personal and professional milestones on the horizon, Kuldeep Yadav steps into a promising new phase, carrying the hopes of fans and teammates as India gears up for another major overseas assignment.
