Raja Chaudhary Opens Up About Distant Bond with Daughter Palak Tiwari, Hopes to Reconnect

Television actor Shweta Tiwari’s personal life has often made headlines, with both her marriages ending on a sour note.

Her first marriage to Raja Chaudhary ended in allegations of domestic violence, followed by a second failed marriage to actor Abhinav Kohli.

In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Raja Chaudhary made several new claims regarding Shweta and her ex-husband Abhinav.

Raja alleged that Abhinav Kohli approached him in tears after his marriage with Shweta fell apart.

He recalled, “Dubara jab Shweta ne shaadi ki (Abhinav se) toh voh ladka bhi rote rote aaya mere pass jab uska firse chakkar chala ki main kya karun btaaun. Voh bola, ‘Main toh uske saath tha jab aapka divorce case chala ab merepe aise apda aagyi.’”

Shweta Introduced Abhinav as a Brother, Says Raja

Raja also spoke about how Shweta initially introduced Abhinav as her brother.

He stated, “Uske bhai the. Kehti toh sabko bhai thi. Are Kohli (Abhinav Kohli) ko bhi bhai bhai kehti thi. ‘Bhai hai mera, bhai ka dost hai’. Badme voh lover bann gaya, husband bann gaya. Bad story.”

He further accused Shweta of keeping their daughter, Palak, away from him and claimed that despite court permission, Shweta did not allow Abhinav to meet his son.

Shweta Tiwari married Raja Chaudhary in 1998. The couple welcomed their daughter Palak Tiwari in 2002.

However, their marriage was plagued by allegations of domestic violence and alcoholism, leading Shweta to file for divorce in 2007. The divorce was finalised in 2012.

In 2013, Shweta married actor Abhinav Kohli after three years of dating. The couple had a son, Reyansh, born in 2016. But by 2019, Shweta accused Abhinav of domestic violence and harassment, leading to their separation.

Raja Accuses Shweta of Affair with Cezanne Khan

During the interview, Raja also accused Shweta of having an affair with her ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ co-star Cezanne Khan in the 2000s. He said their marriage had been troubled since 2003, much before their official divorce.

Raja recalled visiting the set of the show one day. “Divorce joh humara 2012 mein hua hai woh 2003 mein hi ho jaana chahiye tha,” he claimed.

He alleged that he saw Shweta arriving in a car that belonged to Cezanne Khan, along with his driver, and they had yet to reach the set for the shoot.

In an old interview with BollywoodLife, Shweta had dismissed rumours of an affair with Cezanne.

She had said, “I supposedly had affairs with multiple guys! Really? When? Has anyone ever seen me at coffee shops or restaurants? Has anyone ever seen me at parties? I shoot for 30 days a month for KZK. Where in the world do I have the time for an affair?”

She had also spoken about her strained relationship with Raja, saying, “They even say that I recently patched up with him. Why the hell should I patch up with him? I hate him!!”

Raja Opens Up About His Struggles After Divorce

Raja also revealed that despite years passing since their divorce, he remains estranged from his daughter Palak. He alleged that Shweta intentionally kept him away from Palak and cut off her connection with his entire family.

He admitted to being an alcoholic in the past but claimed he has been sober for two years.

“Resolving an issue or not is secondary, what is important is that, as humans, we need to have at least one conversation about the issue,” he said. He blamed Shweta for using her influence to keep him away from their daughter.

Financial and Emotional Toll of Divorce

Raja shared that the divorce left him financially devastated. “This divorce cost me all my money. It was like I died in a plane crash while she survived,” he said.

He accused Shweta of ruining his reputation to the extent that no one was willing to rent him a house.

He also dismissed Shweta’s claims that she sacrificed her marriage for Palak.

“She didn’t let me meet my daughter. She divorced me on a condition that I never meet my daughter,” he said, adding that after nearly a decade of legal battles, he finally gave up hope.

Limited Contact with Palak

Raja mentioned that he occasionally communicates with Palak over social media but said she is busy building her career and rarely has time for him.

He said he writes letters to her and keeps her updated on his life but feels disconnected from her.

He concluded by saying, “Shweta didn’t just take away Palak from me but my entire family. She harassed my entire family and kept them away from my daughter.”
