Ranveer Allahbadia Faces FIRs, Backlash Over Viral ‘Parental Sex’ Joke

The controversy surrounding YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, continues to grow as multiple FIRs and complaints have been filed against him.

Along with comedian Samay Raina, Allahbadia has come under legal scrutiny for his remarks on Raina’s show, “India’s Got Latent.”

The Controversial Statement

The uproar began when a clip from the show went viral, showing Allahbadia asking a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

The remark sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning it as highly inappropriate and offensive.

Removal of the Video and Official Intervention

The video was later removed from YouTube following the intervention of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Following the removal, Allahbadia issued an apology, admitting, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry.”

Political and Legal Repercussions

The matter was raised in Parliament by Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske, who called for stricter regulations on influencer content.

“The inappropriate things they said yesterday should be censored. There should be censorship on influencers’ content. Today, I raised this issue in Parliament, suggesting that action should be taken against them,” he stated.

Police officers were also seen at Allahbadia’s residence as part of an ongoing investigation.

Additionally, an FIR was filed against multiple influencers, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, alongside Allahbadia and Raina.

The cyber department has initiated proceedings to summon all 30 guests who have appeared on the show since its inception.

Celebrity Reactions and Criticism

The controversy has drawn reactions from various celebrities. In an interview with Instant Bollywood, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Manoj Bajpayee commented on the incident.

Ali remarked, “The shortcut to fame comes and goes. I believe that people should do what they enjoy, and obscenity is obviously a bad subject—anyone would say that. But people are immature, so we shouldn’t take their mistakes too seriously.”

Bajpayee added, “That’s why those who are succeeding, who are young, always need to observe and understand the environment around them.”

Social Media Outrage

Many prominent figures took to social media to express their disapproval.

Author Neelesh Misra criticized the lack of content restrictions, stating, “This content is not designated as adult content—it can be easily accessed by children if the algorithm takes them there.”

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also condemned the remark, calling it “perverse” and questioning why such content was applauded.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hinted at potential legal action, emphasizing that “freedom of speech does not extend to encroaching on others’ dignity.”

Legal Actions and FIR Details

The Guwahati Police filed an FIR against Samay Raina and the panelists of “India’s Got Latent” under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), accusing them of promoting obscenity and sexually explicit discussions.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the investigation, stating that law enforcement agencies are taking the issue seriously.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police visited the studio in Khar where the show was filmed to collect evidence and proceed with further inquiries.

Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Apology

Following the legal proceedings and immense social media criticism, Allahbadia publicly apologized once again, reiterating, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry.”

He admitted to a lapse in judgment and promised to be more mindful of his content moving forward.

Samay Raina’s Response

While Allahbadia has issued multiple apologies, Samay Raina has remained largely silent on the controversy.

Currently on his “Unfiltered: North America Tour 2025,” Raina has been active on social media, sharing pictures from his performances in San Jose but making no mention of the ongoing legal issues surrounding “India’s Got Latent.”

The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina continues to escalate as legal investigations move forward.

With FIRs filed and regulatory bodies stepping in, the debate over responsible content creation on social media is once again in the spotlight.

The outcome of this case could set an important precedent for influencer accountability in India’s digital space.
