Ranveer Singh Unleashes His Fury in Dhurandhar First Look: Grit, Revenge, and a Power-Packed Ensemble

Jio Studios and B62 Studios have released the much-anticipated first look of Dhurandhar, coinciding with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s birthday.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, known for Uri: The Surgical Strike, the action-thriller will hit theatres worldwide on December 5, 2025.

Action-Packed Teaser and Cast Details

The 2-minute and 40-second teaser delivers a series of intense visuals, blending mystery with high-octane action sequences. Leading the ensemble cast is Ranveer Singh, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.

The teaser showcases Singh in a never-before-seen avatar, portraying a rugged warrior with long hair, engaging in brutal fight sequences and gritty action moments.

A Punjabi track by Shashwat Sachdev, with vocals by Jasmine Sandlas and rapper Hanumankind, accompanies the visuals, enhancing the film’s edgy tone.

R. Madhavan’s appearance in the teaser has drawn attention, with many comparing his look to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Lokesh Dhar, and Aditya Dhar under the B62 Studios banner and presented by Jio Studios.

Storyline and Production Background

Dhurandhar is described as “the untold saga of the unknown men,” hinting at a narrative centred around covert operations and unsung heroes, reminiscent of Dhar’s earlier military-themed work.

The film is based on what the makers describe as “incredible true events.” Ranveer Singh’s character, seen as a chain-smoker, delivers the impactful line, “Ghayal hoon, isiliye Ghatak hoon” (I am wounded, hence I am dangerous), suggesting an intense and emotionally charged role.

Other characters portrayed by Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal appear to have grey shades, adding to the intrigue. Explosions, gunfights, and hand-to-hand combat dominate the teaser, hinting at a stylised action entertainer.

Ranveer Singh’s Journey and Upcoming Projects

Ranveer Singh made his acting debut with Yash Raj Films’ Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010, which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. With a telecommunications degree from Indiana University Bloomington, Singh initially worked in advertising before entering the film industry.

He established himself through notable collaborations with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), Bajirao Mastani (2015), and Padmaavat (2018).

His portrayal of a street rapper in Gully Boy (2019) brought him another Filmfare Award, and his latest success was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) directed by Karan Johar.

Off-screen, Singh is known for his flamboyant fashion and is married to actress Deepika Padukone, with whom he has a daughter.

For Singh, Dhurandhar comes after a string of shelved projects, including Rakshas, a film by HanuMan director Prashant Varma, from which he exited due to creative differences.

He is also set to star in Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, where he will succeed Shah Rukh Khan in the iconic role.

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s Reputation

Aditya Dhar, best known for directing Uri: The Surgical Strike and Article 370, serves as the writer, director, and producer of Dhurandhar. The film is expected to explore themes similar to his previous works, focusing on unsung heroes and covert operations.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Singh wrote, “An Inferno will rise. Uncover the true story of The Unknown Men,” offering a glimpse into the film’s intense, action-driven world.
