Drama Begins! Bigg Boss 19 Launches on JioHotstar with Salman Khan as Host
The much-awaited 19th season of Bigg Boss is here, with Salman Khan back as host. Known for his trademark humour and commanding presence, the superstar launched the new season in style.
BB19 premiered on August 24, 2025, streaming on JioCinema/Hotstar at 9 pm before airing on Colors TV at 10:30 pm. The show kicked off with the introduction of 16 contestants, chosen from diverse backgrounds.
Politics as the New Theme
This season is built around politics, with “Democracy” or “Loktantra” as its theme. Salman Khan explained that Bigg Boss would not interfere in contestants’ issues, leaving them to handle their own conflicts.
The premiere opened with a dramatic sequence featuring Salman on a bike and a drone light show forming the Bigg Boss eye symbol.
Although the VFX appeared underwhelming, it set the stage for the theme. The house, designed by Omung Kumar, follows a cabin-in-the-woods concept.
