Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Make Red Carpet Debut at David Di Donatello Awards in Rome

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner may have skipped a red carpet appearance at the Met Gala, but the couple made a stylish public debut at a more personal and significant occasion.

On May 7, the duo stepped out together at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome, where Chalamet was honored with an award for Cinematic Excellence.

While the Met Gala would have been a prime stage for their first official joint appearance, Chalamet and Jenner opted for the prestigious Italian awards ceremony instead.

The event marked a major step forward in their relationship, which they have kept relatively low-key since they began dating in 2023.

Private Beginnings, Public Turn

Even earlier this year at the 2025 Academy Awards, Jenner avoided the red carpet, choosing instead to join Chalamet—who had received an Oscar nomination—inside the Dolby Theatre.

She teased her look on Instagram before the event, posting a mirror selfie with the caption, “I have a new pimple friend that wanted to hang tonight,” according to People.

Despite their fame, the couple has kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

A source told People in December that Jenner was cautious early on due to her children—daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3—from her previous relationship with Travis Scott.

“It took Kylie a long time to introduce him to her kids. He’s part of the family now though. Her kids know him as a ‘friend,’” the source shared.

“Her relationship with him is great and very easy. He’s super supportive of her priorities and he works around her schedule a lot. They are both committed to making it work.”

From NBA Playoffs to Red Carpet Glamour

While Jenner walked the 2025 Met Gala carpet solo, Chalamet was attending Game 1 of the NBA playoffs between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.

Just days later, he reunited with Jenner in Rome for their red carpet debut, making it clear the couple was ready to step into the spotlight—on their own terms.

Their appearance at the David Di Donatello Awards was both stylish and coordinated.

Chalamet, star of A Complete Unknown, wore a black velvet double-breasted suit paired with a black crepe de chine pleated shirt and black leather boots from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann. A white gardenia pinned to his lapel completed the look.

Jenner, founder of Kylie Cosmetics, wore a dress from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection.

The black dress featured thin, crisscrossed straps at the back and was adorned with the brand’s symbolic elements.

Her accessories included mismatched earrings—a hammered gold brass finger with a pearl and rhinestone piercing on one side, and a finely sculpted hand with a crystal nail and mother-of-pearl pendant on the other.

She carried a black velvet clutch decorated with Schiaparelli’s signature keyhole bijou plate and gold embroidery, and completed her ensemble with black velvet heeled mules.

Fashion with Western Flair

Jenner’s dress had previously debuted during Paris Fashion Week in March. Curated by Schiaparelli’s creative director Daniel Roseberry, the collection drew inspiration from Western themes.

“Cowboy core is still riding high,” wrote Joelle Diderich in WWD’s review of the show. “Having plied Western chic this time last year, Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry put a raw spin on the trend this season with hand-tooled leather handbags, chunky shearling jackets and big buckle belts worn three at a time.”

This blend of elegance and Western sensibility made Jenner’s ensemble stand out on the Roman red carpet, perfectly complementing Chalamet’s sleek, monochrome look.

Growing Together in the Public Eye

The Rome appearance adds to a growing list of shared events attended by the couple.

In March, they were seen at the 2025 Academy Awards, with Chalamet in a butter yellow Givenchy suit and Jenner in a cutout gown by Miu Miu. In January, they turned heads at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Chalamet wore a Tom Ford tuxedo, while Jenner opted for a vintage Atelier Versace chainmail gown from Spring 1999.

Though they’ve largely kept their romance out of the public eye, their coordinated red carpet debut at the David Di Donatello Awards hints that Chalamet and Jenner are becoming more comfortable embracing the spotlight together—on their own terms.
