Yuzvendra Chahal Sparks Dating Rumours with RJ Mahvash After Viral Instagram Reel

Since Yuzvendra Chahal’s separation from choreographer Dhanashree Verma, speculation about his relationship with RJ Mahvash has been on the rise.

Though neither party has confirmed the rumours, Mahvash’s frequent presence at Punjab Kings matches in the ongoing IPL has kept the chatter alive. Her latest Instagram reel added more fuel to the speculation.

On Monday, Mahvash posted a reel discussing the bitterness of modern-day breakups.

The caption read, “Ja tujhe maaf kia, ab tu yahan HAI HI nahi!” In the clip, she said, “Aaj kal ki generation ke breakups itne gande kyu hote hain yaar? Breakups ko apni zindagi ka sabse chota hissa banaao. Aadhe time toh humari nafrat hi saamne wale ko regret hi nahi karne deti ki usne kya kiya. Tumhari maafi uss bande ko aadha kar degi. Trust me, let it go! Zindagi hai dost, tumhe lagta hai ki tumhare hath mein par sab tay hai…”

The message struck a chord with many followers. Some speculated the video was a subtle message for Chahal.

Comments such as “Reel Chahal bhai ke liye thi,” “Chahal bhai ke liye video tha ye,” and “Ek din Chahal bhai bhi aagey badh jayenge,” appeared under her post.

Public Appearances Keep Rumours Alive

Adding to the buzz, Mahvash recently attended a Punjab Kings IPL match in Chandigarh. She posted pictures from the stadium, including one cheering from the stands and another selfie with Chahal.

Dating rumours originally emerged in December 2024 when Mahvash shared a Christmas photo that included Chahal and his friends.

Later, the cricketer was seen with a mystery woman that fans quickly identified as Mahvash. The duo were also seen attending the Champions’ Trophy match in Dubai, and their photos circulated widely online.

Despite the mounting speculation, Chahal and Mahvash have not publicly addressed the rumours. However, fans continue to draw connections between their public interactions and social media activity.

Chahal Leads Punjab Kings to Historic IPL Win

On the field, Yuzvendra Chahal made headlines with a match-winning performance for Punjab Kings.

He took 4 wickets for 28 runs as his team defended the lowest-ever total in a full 20-over IPL match—111 runs—against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. The game took place in Mullanpur, near Chandigarh.

Kolkata seemed comfortable at 62-2 before Chahal’s leg-spin caused a dramatic collapse. The team was bowled out for 95 in just 15.1 overs.

Punjab, earlier restricted to 111 in 15.3 overs, managed to flip the match and set a new IPL record, surpassing Chennai Super Kings’ 2009 feat of defending 116.

Mahvash Praises Chahal’s Performance Online

Following Chahal’s standout performance, RJ Mahvash posted an Instagram story praising him. She shared a photo with Chahal and wrote, “What a talented man! Highest wicket-taker of IPL for a reason! Asambhav!”

Although Andre Russell made a late attempt to swing the match Kolkata’s way with two sixes and a four off Chahal, Punjab held their nerve.

Arshdeep Singh dismissed Vaibhav Arora, and Marco Jansen bowled Russell, sparking celebrations among the home crowd.

Chahal’s Impact Turned the Game Around

Head coach Ricky Ponting hailed the victory, saying, “I have coached a lot of games in the IPL and that might just be about the best win I ever had.”

Kolkata skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi had earlier stitched together a 55-run partnership before Chahal removed Rahane lbw. Ball tracker suggested the ball was outside off stump, but Rahane chose not to review.

After Rahane’s dismissal, Chahal dismissed Raghuvanshi for 37. Glenn Maxwell then sent Venkatesh Iyer back lbw for seven. Chahal’s next over saw two wickets in two balls—Rinku Singh stumped and Ramandeep Singh out for a golden duck. Harshit Rana narrowly avoided a hat-trick.

The win took Punjab Kings into the top four with their fourth win in six games. Chahal, who was declared player of the match, had passed a fitness test before the game after suffering a shoulder injury in a previous match.

Punjab’s Collapse and Comeback

Earlier in the game, Harshit Rana had rattled Punjab’s top order, returning figures of 3 for 25. After openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh took the team to 39 in just over three overs, Rana dismissed Arya for 22 and sent skipper Shreyas Iyer back for a duck.

Varun Chakravarthy followed up by bowling England’s Josh Inglis for two. Although Prabhsimran struck two sixes off Rana, he was eventually dismissed for 30 by another sharp catch from Ramandeep Singh.

Spinners Sunil Narine and Chakravarthy continued to pick wickets, but the bowlers eventually saved Punjab’s day.
